Mission:

The SHADE Foundation of America, The Children’s Skin Cancer Foundation, is a 501 c 3 national nonprofit organization established 2002 after founder Shonda Schilling’s very public battle with malignant melanoma with the mission to eradicate melanoma through the education of children, parents, educators and the community in the prevention and detection of skin cancer.

 Establishing sun safety programs to educate K – 8 students to prevent 1 in 5 children growing up to develop skin cancer.

 Promoting awareness campaigns on the dangers of UV exposure which contributes to over 3,000,000 cases of skin cancer each year and a death from melanoma each hour.

 Providing SHADE cover to prevent sun burns in playgrounds
