Window
to the World of Skin Cancer

Window reached 5.8 million people
For the whole month of June 2010, the
window at 10 Rockefeller Plaza displayed for millions
of viewers a window to the world of skin cancer. The window donated by EHE
International was designed in partnership with the Federal
Environmental Protection Agency’s SunWise Program
and depicted the UV index on one side, the facts about
skin cancer with an informative
video in the center and
the image of Shonda Schilling with prevention tips on
the far side. The camera from NBC studios morning
show panned across the images as the morning outdoor
segments were filmed in the plaza. The goals of
the window were to introduce people to SHADE Foundation
and to have them think more about protecting their skin.
SHADE Foundation of America has been awarded the 2010
Gold Triangle by the American Academy of Dermatology
for this unique way of bringing skin cancer prevention
to the public with The Window to the World of
Skin Cancer.
We are pleased to announce that EHE International
has again chosen SHADE Foundation to utilize the window
at 10 Rockefeller Plaza for June 2012. Check

Watch for Skin Cancer

Billboards reached 1.5 million people
Clever, eye-catching billboards will
be seen in MA this winter thanks to billboard space
donation from Clear Channel Outdoor Boston, donated
design work from 451 Marketing and a generous donation
to cover printing costs from Style Network. The
billboards, although humorous, are meant to get people
thinking about looking at their skin while it is at
its most natural color during the winter months, then
watch the self-exam video, and visit a dermatologist. For

Skin is Always in Fashion
In a special beauty edition of the Fashion
Journal, two full pages were donated to SHADE
Foundation’s
awareness program. From one side readers can
view the latest DIY skincare solutions for women while
by starting from the other side readers will find grooming
tips for men. Either way you read it, you will
come across SHADE Foundation’s Healthy Skin is
Always in Fashion ad for both men and women. The
message to readers is to watch their skin and get checked
every year by a dermatologist. Skin cancer is
highly treatable if found early. Watch
