The 2008 Survivor Calendar
Overview This 13 month wall calendar for 2008 features black and white photos of 13 skin cancer survivors revealing their scars as well as a brief synopsis of each survivor’s personal experience with skin cancer. Skin cancer survivors featured in this calendar includes Shonda Schilling, reigning Miss Maryland, Brittany Lietz and Anne E. Appleby, founder of YogaForce. About the Project: A message from Meghan Rothschild I created this life-affirming skin cancer survivor calendar to raise awareness about this serious disease so that others may not have to learn about it through personal experience as we women who posed for the calendar have done. It is the hope of all of us survivors that our message will bring encouragement to other women who may be dealing with body issues to learn to love their body in its true form. Ninety percent of the proceeds from the sale of this calendar will go directly to the SHADE Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Shonda and Curt Schilling to educate women and men about proper skin care and the dangers of sun exposure. The remaining ten percent of the proceeds will be used to further raise awareness of skin cancer prevention through my public speaking engagements available to schools, organizations, seminars, etc...
