On November 2, 2008, with your help, I will do my part to raise awareness about skin cancer when I run the New York City Marathon to raise money for the SHADE Foundation of America. I am running this race in memory of all those who have suffered or survived skin cancer. Too often, my generation overlooks the use of sunscreen and other protective sungear in order to appear fashionable or cool. It is my mission to inform as many of my peers as possible and to help all of us to make smart and safe decisions NOW, in hopes of avoiding hearing that devastating news, years down the road. I am a firm believer that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure and I am running this race to thank all of you, friends, family and strangers, for helping this wonderful organization.
