Limit the Sun, Not the Fun!
Summer time does not have to mean sunburn time. There are many activities to do this summer that can provide relief from those strong ultra violet rays. Listed below are some ideas and resources that you can use to find ways for you to limit the sun, not the fun!
Thank you to Ryan Family Amusements for their support of the program during summer 2009. Hundreds of kids bowled for free and learned more about being sun safe. Thank you to everyone who donated to SHADE Foundation’s penny drive during the free bowling over the summer and raised $1,941!
Almost every library across the country offers activities during the summer. Most are free of charge but you may have to register beforehand to participate. Even if your children are too old for story time, your library may offer a variety of other things to do.
Many museums offer days of free admission during the summer months. YMCA’s and Boys and Girls Clubs often offer free and discounted activities throughout the summer as well.
