SHADE Covers

One way SHADE accomplishes its goal of preventing skin cancer is by actually providing protection to as many children as possible. To date SHADE has provided over 150 schools and organizations with the means to build SHADE covers. This has resulted in the creation of over 20 million hours of SHADE and has provided protection for tens of thousands of children. Watch the 3TV video on AZFamily.com

Killer Shade/SHADE Foundation of America Partnership

Beginning in September 2008 Killer Shade and SHADE Foundation of America will team up on a program entitled Caleb’s SHADE Covers to bring twelve shade covers to valley schools and provide UV protection to nearly 10,000 children. With skin cancer rates in Arizona among the highest in the world, it is truly of utmost importance to protect as many of our children as possible.

Killer Shade has so far installed 3 SHADE covers at Valley schools! These three covers will provide millions of hours of protection for thousands of kids in the coming years!

The first school to recieve a Caleb’s SHADE Cover was Gateway Pointe Elementary School in Gilbert. Pima Elementary School in Scottsdale put their Caleb’s SHADE Cover over their playground equipment and Desert Star Elementary School in Goodyear put their SHADE over their pick up and drop off area so the students now have a safe place to be before and after school. More installations to come this year! Thanks a lot Killer Shade!

The shade has been absolutely great for the students here at Gateway. Not only has it helped with keeping our students cooler and away from the harmful rays of the sun, we have also been able to use it as a focal point for parent pickup and other gatherings allowing us to keep students safe from the potential dangers of a busy parking lot. Not to mention the positive effect that the shade has had on the community. Killer Shade did an amazing job with its construction. I do not believe that structure will ever succumb to the elements.”
